I am interested in macro transition processes, understood as the major systemic and individual-level changes needed to address the ecological and climate crises. My current postdoctoral work centers on the examination of institutional and public responses to proposed climate mitigation initiatives focused on the transition to a more ethical and sustainable consumption system. Similarly, my dissertation work focuses on two intersecting areas with immense ramifications for the natural world and for our society: the problem of stalled political action to address climate change, and the question of the excessive influence of political elites and powerful organizations to obstruct environmental policy efforts that are at odds with their economic and political ends.
